Sometimes one feels a desire for a new dress. As I was finishing the phrase, the word “green” immediately appeared in my head.
Strange — I had not been thinking about a green dress at all, but the subconscious suggests: one must!
To be honest, I did not really want one very much. First, where does one get these beautiful dresses? And second, where does one wear them?
How many of these dresses have I had, after all? I thought about it, and remembered only a few.
On my fifth birthday I woke up to find a green corduroy skirt and a yellow flannel blouse hanging on the back of the chair by my little bed. I was delighted! It was so warm, soft, and beautiful)) I only wondered: when had my mother sewn all this, if we lived in the same apartment and I had never seen her sewing?
The second memorable piece of clothing was my own. I wrote about it once. During the holidays after third grade, I sewed my first dress! I spread my first piece of fabric on the floor — a dark little calico with flowers, the trend of the current season — laid a real dress on top of it, like Ostap Bender drawing Kisa, cut it out, sewed it, put it on. And I did wear it, and I remembered it! And how proud I was of it!
I remember my red dress, sewn in handicraft class from fine-ribbed corduroy. And I remembered my graduation dresses only now, when I began remembering on purpose, though they were “dressy” and “real.”
After that, dresses disappear from memory until the trip to France. When, seeing my deep sadness over the absence of an elegant outfit at the very end of the age of total shortages, a neighbor brought over a new, still-packaged turquoise suit that she had bought at her factory.
That turquoise suit was so intoxicatingly beautiful! In short, Tatiana decided that it was absolutely impossible to go to France without it.
And that, perhaps, is all I remember about dresses. Out of their huge number in life, nothing else has stayed in memory.
So is it worth wanting them? Even a green one. Soon enough green will appear outside. Grass, leaves, flowers. One genius did say, “All Russia is our garden,” especially if one does not knock about with an axe. And another genius — also a lover of axes — said that “beauty will save the world.”
So soon everything will bloom, and we shall have beauty))
Or should I still buy a beautiful dress?
Good morning, my almost-blooming ones! Do you have any new dresses?
