“Heart of a Dog” and “Dandelion Time”
The Cossack Theatre is premiering the production Heart of a Dog. It is a contemporary reading of Mikhail Bulgakov’s novella of the same name, about Professor Preobrazhensky’s experiment in transplanting a human pituitary gland into a stray mongrel. The scenographic concept uses a reproduction of Aristarkh Lentulov’s painting Moscow. Stage director Vladimir Tikhonravov and artist Elena Orlova create the atmosphere of precisely that Moscow which, in the 1920s, was changing itself uncontrollably and inevitably changing human destinies as well. Viewers will be invited to reflect on how time influences human consciousness, and whether there are boundaries that must not be crossed.
And on May 16 at 17:30, a personal exhibition by Elena Orlova, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation and artist, opens at the Cossack Theatre. Her watercolor works from different years are united by one theme — “Dandelion Time.”

On May 6 at 17:30, a personal exhibition of Elena Orlova’s watercolors, “Dandelion Time,” opens at the Cossack Theatre.
Elena Orlova is an Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation.
Member of the Union of Artists of Russia,
Member of the International Association of Art — AIAP UNESCO.
She has taken part in many exhibitions, including international ones in the USA, Poland and France, as well as all-Union, all-Russian, regional and oblast exhibitions.
She is the author of personal exhibitions in Belgium (Liège), France (Dijon), and Volgograd: “Two,” “Secret Life,” “Capricorn to Capricorn,” “Attempt at Dialogue,” “Ultramarine Within the Bounds of the Permissible,” “October the Seventeenth,” and “Illusions.”
Participant in the international project “Artists of Three Rivers: Russia, USA, Ghana” in Russia and the USA.
